Throwing Large and Joining
Saturday, May 6 | 11am - 3:00pm

David Smyth of Smyth/Cid Pottery will visit the studio for a hands on workshop focused on throwing large and joining to make even larger pieces.



Introduction to Pottery
Sundays, May 7 - June 18 | 11am-1:30pm
Instructor: Colleen Skiff
Cost: $300 for members/$350 for non-members

Students will learn the basics of clay preparation including wedging and handbuilding with pinch, coil and slab techniques, introduction to the potter’s wheel, kiln firing, glazing and surface embellishment which includes stamping, carving, incising and wax resist. Class time will be made up of instructor demonstrations, critiques and individual solo work. Students can expect to complete functional and sculptural pieces during the class.


Beginners Wheel
Mondays, May 8 - June 19 (no class on May 29) | 6-9 pm
Instructor: Toan Tran
Cost: $300 for members/$350 for non-members


Sculpting the Human Head
Tuesdays, May 16 - June 27 | 6-9 pm
Instructor: Katherine Tholl
Cost: $300 for members/$350 for non-members

This 7-week class will focus on sculpting 6-9 inch human heads. You will learn basic anatomy and focus on creating expressive features. Once the essentials are understood, you can easily scale up and down in size. Glazing techniques and ways to display your work will also be discussed.


Embellishment and Alteration
Thursday, July 20 | 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Instructor: Rebecca Cigal
Cost: FREE!

Join Rebecca for a night of experimenting with clay in three dimensions. Bring a couple of leather hard pieces, some extra clay and a sense of adventure to this free workshop.
