Wild & Whimsical Animal Characters Weekend Workshop With Jean O’Neil

Join Jean O’Neil and step into a Wonderland of possibilities in the design and construction of whimsical animal sculptures.  Delve into your treasure chest of creativity and create a character from your childhood memories, your favorite animal, or utilize the character examples provided.  Nothing feels better than mixing the joy and laughter experienced while building your individual animal character, from the shoe or paw design to the top hat or wild mane.

How is this possible you ask?

Unlike traditional clay, fiber clay does not require the hollowing out of the figure. I discovered this clay when I had my studio in Sedona and have been importing it from New Mexico ever since. This unique fiber clay has the option to be fired up to cone 6. As a sculptural tool, the strength of the embedded fiber offers an incredible array of structural possibilities you will love discovering. After completing this workshop you will be able to create and build a variety of both sculptural and functional work with this extraordinary clay body.
