Saggar Fire at Waterbrook

Saggar firing is a unique pottery technique where ceramic pieces are placed inside a sealed container with materials like sawdust, seaweed, and copper wire. As the kiln heats up, these materials burn and trap fumes inside the container, baking beautiful, smoky colors and organic patterns directly into the clay.

Date & Time: Saturday, September 12 at 3 pm

Cost: $25 for Waterbrook & CCCG members; $30 for non-members

What to bring:

Bring 3 to 4 bisque-fired pieces (fired once).

Each piece should have a diameter of 8 inches or less.

Tall and thin pieces are recommended as they are more likely to fit in the kiln
